Make The Most Of Home
This exact quote is on my vision board that I created almost three years ago, and it is still located on my wall in my room. I didn’t quite understand why I chose to pin that quote on my vision board until now.
What do you think of when you picture your dream home? Do you think of a mansion, a beach house, cabin, 50th floor condo, whatever you dream of is possible. However, are we going to wait until we save enough money to shoot straight to that vision? Or, are we going to take the correct steps now towards the goal. The power is in the now. Your first home may not be what you envision, but the quote, “Make the most of home” helps us be at peace with where we are in our current lives. For example, if your dream is a 50th floor city view condo, however your budget does not allow for that type of home at the present moment, how can we shift our perspective to achieve the dream still? We look at the term ‘Investment’. This 1st floor condo, that may need a little love and attention put into it, will propel me to that dream. Life only gets better with time.
“Make the most of home” is not just a quote, but a way of living. We have to start somewhere, so don’t wait to buy the perfect home, work your way to the dream of that home, by purchasing an investment that you can “Make the most of home” in that moment of time. How do you make the most of home?
Find yourself.
Find your style of comfort. What colors fuel your soul, how do certain elements of wood, iron, or brick make you feel? Have you thought about plants? Maybe it is not the city view that you have at that moment, but instead you choose to live close to your children's school to save money. If we can learn to love our home, no matter where we are, that is where the value lies.
You will get to your dream home, but let's take the steps there, purchase what we can in the moment, make sure you love it, and make the most of our home.
